It seems like a classic Marvel villain could be taking on the Guardians of the Galaxy in the sequel with help of some familiar characters.

Will 'Guardians 2' Steer Away From The Comics With The Identity Of Star Lord's Dad?

CinemaBlend hypothesized some villains they would like to see in the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy and one that was mentioned was also on the mind of another Marvel villain, Thanos, or Josh Brolin.

Speaking earlier this month with IGN, Brolin was talking about the relationship that Death and Thanos had. "His relationship with Death, who is actually the woman, I love that," Brolin enthused. "You can take Sin City [in which Brolin plays a man obsessed with a dark-hearted woman] and pump it full of steroids, and then you have Thanos," Brolin said.

Which Cameo Did You Miss In 'Guardians' That Will Lead To A Sequel Apperance?

"I like that he's motivated by that -- not just motivated by destruction or death or this or that. He's motivated by a very identifiable, human trait."

In the comics, Death is an abstract entity, the embodiment of the end of life in the Marvel Universe, and the opposite of Eternity, the embodiment of the universe. Death is predominantly depicted as a skeleton cloaked in a black or purple robe, and at times appears as a Caucasian human female. An elaborate storyline in the title Captain Marvel showcases Thanos's scheme to conquer the universe, as the character becomes determined to prove his love for Death by destroying all life.

CinemaBlend added that they could see an expanded, more evil role for Benicio Del Toro's The Collector in the sequel after the Guardians helped to smash his precious palace. The site speculates that he could make a deal with Nebula to help Thanos get the Infinity Stones that he owns.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to open in theaters on July 28, 2017.
