Daylight rings allow vampires on The CW's The Originals to survive the sunlight, but The CW drama never passes up an opportunity for a little late night mayhem.

Producers Dish On 'New 'The Originals' & 'Vampire Diaries' Crossover Episode

"Long night kicking arse #The Originals" teased star Joseph Morgan (Klaus) on Twitter at nearly one o'clock in the morning on Friday.

While the actor frequented Twitter as Season 1 played out on television, he's spent the summer relatively absent from social media, and with good reason. Morgan married his former Vampire Diaries co-star Persia White in a private ceremony back in July and has enjoyed some time relaxing with his new wife.

Unlikely Alliances Forming On 'The Originals'

Now that the star is back on set in Atlanta, he's begun tweeting about the show again, promising new and exciting episodes to come.

Actors Sebastian Roche (Mikael) and Steven Krueger (Josh) have also boasted some night shooting, and director Jeffrey Hunt has been tweeting from night shoots on set since August 13.

The absence of baby Hope will be taking its toll during the drama's second season, and so the night sequences could be meant to reflect the deep, dark troubles faced by Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) now that they no longer have their child with them.

In a recently interview with Buddy TV (featured below), Morgan described Klaus as being "kind of like a caged animal" in the compound "who's jumping at the bit to get revenge at those who wronged him."

The Originals returns to The CW for a second season on a new night Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
