It looks as though the drama is heating up both on and off screen for Dance Moms. According to a new report, former Dance Moms star Kelly Hyland was called an "unsophisticated woman from rural Pennsylvania" by her lawyer who apparently did not know about the legal ramifications that came with signing her contract for the show.

Abby Lee Miller Not Returning To The Show Because Of Her Lawsuit?

The Los Angeles Daily News reports though that Hyland indeed knew what she was signing, according to a layer for Collins Avenue Entertainment LLC, the production company that she is suing. Both attorneys reportedly "clashed" while in a Los Angeles court this week as Hyland is also suing Abby Lee Miller for defamation and an on-air altercation that was filmed by the show last season.

It looks as though Hyland doesn't have a strong enough case for now.

Abby Lee Miller Says Producers Sabotaged Maddie Ziegler's Performance During An Episode Last Year

According to Deadline last week, Judge Ruth Kwan indicated that she will likely throw out the defamation and emotional distress claims that cast member Hyland and her daughters slapped Miller and producers Collins Avenue Entertainment with in their multi-claim February 19 complaint.

The site also adds that the judge cautioned lawyers that she hasn't made a final decision yet. Judge Kwan also says she may allow Hyland's breach of contract claims against Collins to continue based on a further hearing next week. The assault claim by Hyland in this case still looks to stand. Miller has gone after Hyland also saying she assaulted her.
