With Lady Gaga debuting her first Jazz album in under a month, will this mark a permanent change in the singer's career?

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett Release Artwork For 'Cheek To Cheek' Duet Album

Gaga's newest album, Cheek to Cheek, is scheduled to hit the shelves on September 23. The musical direction Gaga has decided to focus on is Jazz, specifically duets with legendary Jazz singer Tony Bennett. The two first worked together on Bennett's 2011 album, Duets II, performing The Lady Is A Tramp and debuting at number one on the Jazz Billboard charts.

With Gaga stepping away from the pop world, what will this do for her outfits and moreover, her pop music career? Bennett recently told Billboard that the two plan on doing a lengthy tour together, with a confirmed follow up project to Cheek to Cheek. The duet tour would be more focused for jazz, with Bennett explaining, "She's kind of exhausted from playing for 45,000 people a night," adding, "I'm not interested in playing to 45,000 people a night, so she's finding places where we could work for three or four days, or three or four weeks, in one place at a time. That's how she wants to work with me."

Lady Gaga Unveils New Music In A Stylish Manner

Gaga and Bennett have added spark back into the jazz genre of music, with two of their singles topping Jazz charts (Anything Goes and The Lady Is A Tramp). Gaga first showcased her ability to sing at Cherry Tree Records with her piano version of Poker Face. It was shocking five years ago, but now the singer is proving her ability to sing alongside a legend.
