'American Idol' May Be Losing Its Spark After Latest Winner's Album Sales

Anchor has been described by USA Today as a darker album. Dixon stated, "We pulled out all the stops for this record, for the rock songs, we decided to go big or go home." The more personal approach to Anchor showcases its bigger feel. Dixon explains why: "For this record, it wasn't a dark place that I was in, but it was a drifting place, a place where I could either get stronger or take a step backwards."

Dixon peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200 with his debut album A Messenger. The Christian singer has been one of the few non-winners of the show to have a successful career. Dixon marks this to his faith, helping him find his niche in the Christian Music scene. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lead single More Of You has reached the number one spot on iTunes Christian and Gospel singles chart.
