Lea Michele might be appearing in more episodes of FX's Sons of Anarchy than previously anticipated, due to the quality of her performance.

Gemma Haunted By Tara In Final Season of Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy director Paris Barclay spoke with E! News this weekend at an Emmy party where he revealed that the show is trying to get Michele back for more episodes.

"We love her," Barclay admitted. "We're trying to find a way to bring her back."

Michele filmed one episode of the final season of Sons of Anarchy, playing Gertie, a truck stop waitress and single mom. This was a big departure from Michele's usual glamorous look, having starred in Fox's Glee for five seasons, a show that Barclay is also involved in.

"It was tough," Barclay added. "It had to do with makeup and wardrobe. She looks a little bigger. We didn't pad her up but she looks a little bigger than she normally does. Lighting has to do with it, too."

At the end of the day, though, what really made them want to bring her back for more episodes was her acting. Barclay noted, "Her acting was completely naturalistic."

Within the context of the series, Michele's Gertie is a waitress who meets Gemma (Katey Sagal) and has a bond with her.

It is not known if she will have a big impact on the final season but with Michele being who she is, it's doubtful that she will have a throwaway part.

The seventh season of Sons of Anarchy premieres Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
