The latest actor to join the ranks of Emmy Award winning Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series is none other than Ty Burrell for ABC's Modern Family.

Burrell won the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the August 25, 2014 ceremony, beating out his competition, which included performances by Andre Braugher for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Adam Driver for Girls, co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Fred Armisen for Portlandia, and Tony Hale for Veep.

Burrell has been nominated for the award five consecutive times, previously winning it in 2011 for his work as Phil Dunphy on the popular ABC series. His co-star Eric Stonestreet has also won the award twice, and Ferguson has also been nominated five consecutive years as well.

Their show has been the most winning comedy at the Emmy's in previous years, winning for Best Comedy Series as well, winning the award every year since 2010.

Burrell and Ferguson are not the only ones who have previously been nominated in this category-Hale won the award last year for his work on Veep, and Driver has been a nominee twice before as well for his work on Girls. Braugher received his first nomination for Brooklyn Nine-Nine this year.

Congratulations on the win to Burrell.
