Awkward returns to MTV for the remainder of its fourth season in less than a month and, based on the newest preview, the surprises just keep on coming for Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and her friends.

Beau Mirchoff Dishes On Upcoming Return of 'Awkward'

The mid-season finale ended with Eva's big pregnancy announcement, though Eva (Elisabeth Whitson) is noticeably absent from the new 30-second trailer. Instead of dwelling on the pregnancy, the preview focuses on the original cast as they head towards graduation at Palos Hills High School.

This season promises "hookups" all around and a few dating disasters, particularly for Jenna who has already suffered a break-up with her college-aged boyfriend and will now be navigating the waters of single life yet again.

Cast Of 'Awkward' Hits The Beach

Dating won't be the only problem Jenna is bound to face. The preview also suggests that she won't be getting into her college of choice, which might begin the start of a pretty intense spiral. Matty (Beau Mirchoff) will spend at least part of the season looking into his birth parents, which could be related to the fact that he might just be the father of Eva's baby.

"Now or Never" is the tagline for Season 4, and the trailer certainly capitalized on that when it revealed a last-second kiss between Jenna and Matty.

It is uncertain whether or not the series will return for a fifth season, particularly since high school programs often run into trouble by the time characters are ready to hit college.

Awkward returns to MTV to finish out its fourth season on Tuesday, September 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
