Rachel (Lea Michele) is coming back to Lima to help reinstate the glee club at McKinley High when Glee returns for its final season on Fox.

Cory Monteith Likely To Be Given Tribute In Final Season of Glee

Fox released a new synopsis for the upcoming final season of Glee, with a slew of new details about how the show's main characters end up in Ohio again. For starters, Rachel will return to Lima "after her humiliating failure as a TV actress."

She decides to take the lead in helping to "reinstate and lead the glee club," after finding out that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) has completely banished all arts programs at McKinley High.

Karofsky Returning As Potential Love Interest For Blaine When Glee Returns

While Rachel struggles to revive the glee club, Blaine (Darren Criss) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) will return to Ohio for some "surprising new gigs." Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) is also set to have a shocking new job.

The synopsis reveals that other alumnae of McKinley High will be returning at various points in the final season.

It seems that the story lines in New York will mostly be over as almost all of the graduates wind up back in Ohio. The series switched gears halfway through Season 5 and focused solely on Rachel, Kurt (Chris Colfer), Blaine, Sam, Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Santana (Naya Rivera) in New York.

The final season of Glee is expected to premiere in early 2015 on Fox. The final season will be comprised of 13 episodes, a reduction from the usual 20-22 episodes per season.
