As filming of Insidious: Chapter 3 has now completed, new images from the set of the movie have been trickling through. A still of Dermot Mulroney and Lin Shaye shooting a scene for the movie was revealed on August 26.

Filming For Insidious: Chapter 3 Wrapped On August 19  

The picture was posted on the movie's official account. Shaye and Mulroney are seen sharing an intense moment, discussing something alarming, as can be seen from Shaye's expression. Shaye plays Elise, the character she has portrayed in the first two chapter of the indie horror franchise as well.

Stefanie Scott also stars in the movie. Blum (Blumhouse Productions) is co-producing the third film with Peli (Paranormal Activity). Leigh Whannell, who wrote the first two chapters of the franchise -- which were directed by James Wan (Fast and Furious 7) -- is helming Insidious 3.

Here's the official movie synopsis:

"In Insidious: Chapter 3, a twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further."

Insidious: Chapter 2 was released on Sept. 13 and topped the U.S. box office scoring $41.1 million over in its opening weekend. The film stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, and Barbara Hershey reprised their roles from  the first film in the series. 

The first film followed the story of the haunted Lambert family, whose son inexiplicably enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for demons. In Insidious: Chapter 2, the married couple try to explore the secrets that tie them to the paranormal world and the demons that possessed their son.

Insidious 3 will release on May 29 2015.
