A classic Spider-Man villain is set to make an appearance as part of the Sinister Six, but could this introduction lead to an expanded role in the next Spider-Man standalone movie?

Could The 'Sinister Six' Plot Center Around Individual Fights With Spider-Man?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb has already announced that Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter are two of the villains appearing as part of the Sinister Six during the villain team-up movie. But the director has also mentioned bringing the famed bad guy back for more action against Spider-Man.

Back in May, Webb, who will direct the third Spider-Man standalone also, talked with ComicBook about bringing in Kraven the Hunter into the third installment as the main villain. This could be an easy segway that would allow for more interaction with Spider-Man since the villain will be introduced a movie before.

Director Talks 'Sinister Six,' Possible Cameos & What Could Happen During The Movie

In the comics, is a Russian immigrant, the son of an aristocrat who fled to the United States with his family in 1917 after the Russian nobility was decimated by the February Revolution and subsequent collapse of the reign of Tsar Nicholas II.

Kraven is a maniacal big game hunter who seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, he typically disdains the use of guns or bow and arrows, preferring to take down large dangerous animals with his bare hands.

He also lives by a code of honor of sorts, choosing to hunt his game fairly. He consumes a mystical serum to give himself enhanced strength and dramatically slow the aging process.

Having the Sinister Six as a place to go into his origin story, having Kraven be the main villain during Spider-Man 3 would make sense. It would take away the origin story time and allow the movie to supremely focus on the battle between the villain and Spider-Man, something both of Webb's movies have sorely lacked.

Sinister Six is set to open in theaters on November 11, 2016.
