Before Major Crimes was confirmed to come back this fall for the second part of Season 3 and ranked number one for its summer finale, the star Mary McDonnell talked about her role as Sharon Raydor.

Tony Denison Spills On 'Major Crimes' Shandy Relationship

According to MajorCrimesTV, the TNT drama ended the summer on a huge high note. The site reported last week that 5.73 million viewers tuned in to see the finale, which pitted Raydor against "The Other Sharon" aka Sharon Beck (played by Ever Carradine).

Star McDonnell has been playing Raydor since The Closer, but the character has evolved since those days. "They used to call her Darth Raydor," she told Radio Talk earlier in August. "Every once in awhile we long for the days of Darth. Occasionally, she brings it back. But staying in that lane would have been too limiting." Major Crimes is a spin-off of The Closer, which was just renewed for Season 4.

Raydor showed her maternal side when she unofficially adopted runaway teen Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) on Major Crimes.

"We're so good together now," McDonnell told TV Line  about the drama's cast. "So, you really do come to work looking forward to whomever is in that scene." Fans especially love the relationship between Raydor and Flynn (Tony Denison). "It seems to be moving in that direction," Denison told Hollywood Today Live about a potential hook-up between the two characters, "but I don't really want to know what the next episode brings."
