Fans will certainly be mourning the series as the week closes. Many had taken to Twitter to voice their enthusiasm for the series. Others even went so far as to begin a petition to bring the show back. As of Thursday, the ipetitions call for renewal was at 1,553 signatures.

While this is certainly the end for Longmire on A&E, the drama could still manage to find itself a new home. Deadline noted that Warner Horizon is now rushing to shop the show around to other networks, which could be enough reason for fans to continue hoping.

Longmire may be down, but it's not out just yet.
