With a new album, tour, stint on NBC's The Voice, and even a pizza commercial, country singer Blake Shelton is determined to carve out some alone time. The only problem is that he claims this every year, and every year he ultimately caves.

Blake Shelton Returns To His Roots With New Album

"It's funny, because every year for the past 10 years," he explained in an interview with Rolling Stone on Thursday, "I've had this phone call with my manager where I say, 'Hey man, this fall… I'm not kidding this time, I'm not doing it. I don't care what it is…I want to protect my fall -- that's when deer season starts…' And here we go again."

Though Shelton can't seem to get some time to himself lately, he's thankful to be in control of the projects he chooses. "I'm at this point in my life where I'm only doing things I'm excited about and believe in," declared the musician, "because to be on this side of my career, I don't have to beat my head against the wall anymore, and that's fun."

Blake Shelton Is Glad To Be 'Stuck' With Country

With hit songs, packed concerts and a number of successful television gigs, Shelton certainly has a lot going for him. In spite of split rumors, he also boasts a happy marriage to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, whose own schedule proves to be just as challenging as his.

Perhaps the couple will get some time together in October, when Shelton's tour comes to a close with a final performance in Hollywood.

Shelton's new album Bringing Back The Shine is set to hit stores September 30.
