It looks like the big day for Joss could happen sooner than she expected when Mistresses returns.

'Mistresses' Was Supposed To Have A 'Darker Storyline?'

In a sneak peek released on Wednesday, Scott escorts his fiancee somewhere with her eyes covered. As she awaits in anticipation, he finally shows her where she is. As it turns out, they're in a room where Joss's wedding dress can be seen along with pairs of shoes. One might expect that she's there to shop, but Scott has something else on his mind.

Joss asks what's going on and he tells her that there's a minister and a harpist in the same building. He mentions to bring out some tunes early so it can play while she walks down the aisle. Joss is left in shock and confusion, but seems to be flattered at the same time. Naturally, she knows where this is going, but she doesn't really know how to respond.

April's Shocking Phone Call Chatter

"You don't have to say yes," Scott informs her. "You want to marry me today?" Before Joss can respond, the clip ends.

There are a number of possibilities that could take place at this point though. Odds are likely, Joss won't say yes right away, but it doesn't mean she won't say it after a few minutes. And considering that this is the season finale, anything is possible to keep viewers interested. Perhaps, she will choose to marry Scott at that point, or she might say no with more complications coming for the third season.

Mistresses airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
