Mistresses will be airing its season finale for its second year on Monday night, but will it be the last episode for good?

'Mistresses' Was Supposed To Have A 'Darker Storyline?'

On Sunday, Carter Matt pointed out some theories on why the show has potential to stick around although it's not guaranteed. It looks like the show has had less ratings from its first season, but not that much less. The site mentioned that the show has had a 0.9 to a 1.1 rating, which isn't too far beyond from what the first season had. Also, the last episode of Mistresses didn't do too well, but that could only be because it had some competition with the Emmy's happening in the same night.

It also turns out that Mistresses has done better than some other ABC shows this summer, including Rising Star and The Quest. That will probably bring up some hope for the fans that the show might not be done just yet.

But there's still some bad news- even though the ratings aren't terrible, they're not really that great either. The site pointed out that if the numbers stay how they are now, then the show might not get canceled now, but it could happen in the near future. It might have potential to stay on television for at least one more year, but that could be it.

If tonight's finale gains some more views, then the show might have a better chance of lasting. The final episode of Season 2 will air on Monday night at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
