Country star Carrie Underwood has always had plenty of love to share with her dogs, but it looks like the puppies will have to move over for a new, human addition to the family.

It seems the 31-year-old singer had finally announced that she and NHL husband of four years Mike Fisher are expecting their first child. So how did they announce the big news? With their puppies of course.

"In honor of 'Labor' Day… Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement," tweeted Underwood on Monday afternoon. "Their parents could be happier!"

The announcement? Well, along with the message Underwood included a photo of her sitting with her dogs. Ace sported a blue "I'm going to be a BIG BROTHER" shirt, while Penny sat curled up in a matching pink "I'm going to be a BIG SISTER" top.

In the past Underwood had often side-stepped the subject of kids when it came to interviews. As a high-profile performer there have been many pregnancy rumors, none of which have been true until now.

Underwood has mention that she and Fisher have always looked to have children eventually, but not just yet. Apparently the singer's been waiting for the right time, and that time is now.

Underwood has announced no further news regarding the pregnancy or her due date. The star will have some time to return to Nashville in between concerts, which could give her and hubby Fisher some time to discuss future plans.
