The first move laid the groundwork between Shailene Woodley's Tris and Theo James' Four as the main couple to focus on with the franchise, but could the movie's producers decide to add another male character to create some sort of divide between the two love birds?

A character created called Edgar, and played by Jonny Weston, is rumored to be a new love interest for Tris and could be part of a love triangle for Insurgent that will have him and Four at odds.

Love triangle have been successful in the most closely related franchise with Divergent, The Hunger Games, as the trio of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale have been one of the central focuses with the movie that has been culminating to the final movie when she will make her choice. It seems like the Divergent franchise will want to mimic this triangle that has had fans hooked in since day one.

It is unclear as to where Edgar will come from and why he will join Tris in her journey, but he will have to make an impact on the character to make her fall for him some. It would be most likely that he joins her close to the beginning of the movie and starts to set trimmers with the relationship by the end of the film and leading to the next movie.

Weston has created a solid resume so far with roles in Chasing Mavericks and recent work on Taken 3.

Insurgent is set to open in theaters on March 20, 2015.
