Adele is gone and it has become a frenzy of different big name artists who are linked with doing the theme song for the next James Bond movie. But could an artist who has had success already with a big budget movie grab the coveted gig?

'The Dark Knight Rises' Star Tops List For James Bond Replacements

According to The Sun on Thursday, Lana Del Rey, who has recorded songs for The Great Gatsby and Maleficent, is now being considered to do the theme for Bond 24. Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" was a chart-topping success after the release of the movie.

"Producers know it has to be a great song with a killer vocal to rival the phenomenal success of Adele's Skyfall," a source told The Sun.

'Bond 24' Looks To Feature A Bunch Of Classic Characters

Last month, it was reported that up-and-coming artist Sam Smith was being considered, and according to the report, he is still the leader with Del Rey close behind.

"Sam seems like the favourite but Lana could definitely give him a run for his money.," The Sun reported. Smith disputed reports following an article that said he was in final talks to create the next movie's theme song.

Del Rey is most likely making headway after the success that her work on The Great Gatsby soundtrack had, with the album becoming a Billboard winner after the film's release. The artist also created a re-working of "Once Upon A Dream" for this year's Maleficent.

Bond 24 is set to open in theaters on November 6, 2015 with Daniel Craig returning in the main role and Sam Mendes coming back to direct.
