When Fox's procedural Bones returns for its tenth season this fall, both Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will be haunted by the "emotional ramifications" of what went down in the Season 9 finale.

Booth Ready To 'Confront' Another FBI Member When Bones Returns for Season 10

Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan spoke with TVLine recently about where the new season will pick up and how both Booth and Brennan will feel emotionally.

"The story has taken a huge leap forward when we pick up in the premiere," Nathan said, adding that there will be a break in the case that landed Booth in prison "and they run with it." Despite this breakthrough, the married couple will deal with the "emotional ramifications" of what occurred, especially Booth.

Booth was last seen getting arrested (and shot) for shooting three members of the Delta Force, in connection with the Ghost Killer/FBI case. Now, four months later, Booth will be feeling slightly betrayed by the organizations he once trusted.

"He has been in war zones before, but he's never been betrayed by the people and institutions that he trusts and has risked his life for," Nathan noted. "That's a big thing to deal with. There will be fallout from everything that's happened that will trail out over time."

The report reveals that Brennan will be surprising Booth with a new house as a homecoming gift, considering their previous house was all but destroyed.

The upcoming season will also likely have a bundle of joy on the way for some of the characters.

"At some point in the not-too-distant future, we will probably see a very little person who cannot drive or feed themselves yet," Nathan previewed, cryptically. "But how that little person makes their entrance, and from whom, is something I'd like to keep to myself."

Could this be the long-awaited second child for Booth and Brennan?

Bones Season 10 premieres Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
