Hetty Defies Orders In 'NCIS: LA' Premiere, Sam & Callen Face Explosive Fate In San Diego

The operation psychologist will return to the CBS drama during "The 3rd Choir," and Peter Cambor's character will continue to delve into the team's problems. While Nate generally has his hands full with Callen, Sam, Deeks, and Kensi, he will have an emotional charged scene with Nell (Renee Felice smith) during the season's fourth episode.

"Filmed an emotional little scene written by #danascanlon w [Peter Cambor] down at the beach last week," Smith tweeted on Monday.

Deleted 'NCIS: LA' Densi Scene Shows Deeks' True Feelings, Kensi's Torture; Should It Have Been Included?

Does this mean viewers will finally get to find out how the two investigators know each other? Or will Nate merely be helping his colleague deal with another incident?

The series will continue to dig into its characters' pasts, and that may include Nate and Nell.

"If you want more exciting insightful and history of all of our #NCISLA characters, #StayTuned," tweeted executive producer John Peter Kousakis on Sunday.

Before NCIS: LA can delve into anyone's back story, however, the core four must survive the season premiere. Titled "Deep Trouble: Part 2," the episode will pick up where the season finale left off. With Sam and Callen in danger of being obliterated by a terrorist attack, the rest of the team must work quickly to find them in time (see video below).
