Minka Kelly has reportedly joined the cast for new film "The Butler." The film will be directed by Lee Daniels with a screenplay by Daniels and Danny Strong, and will focus on telling the story of Eugene Allen, who was a White House servant from the Truman years through to the reign of Ronald Reagan.

The film is setting up an all star cast and is looking to be one of the hottest new movies in the making. Kelly, who in recent days has been dropped into an alleged sex tape scandal by a former boyfriend, will take on the role in "The Butler" of Jackie Kennedy, according to Deadline.com.

Kelly will join a host of Hollywood stars in the cast. Already confirmed to have signed up for the project include Forest Whitaker as Allen, Oprah Winfrey as Allen's spouse, Robin Williams as President Dwight D. Eisenhower, John Cusack as President Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, as well as Cuba Gooding Jr, David Oyelowo and Lenny Kravitz.

New names now emerging to have been added to the cast list include Liev Schreiber as President Lyndon B. Johnson, Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower, James Marsden as John F Kennedy, as well as Mariah Carey, Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer, Yaya DaCosta, Elijah Kelly, and Jesse Williams.

The news of Kelly's new part comes amid a traumatic time for the actress; in recent days her ex-boyfriend has allegedly been touting around what is described as a sex tape of the two together.

The 30 minute tape has been rumored to show Kelly when she was still underage, potentially making it fall under the category of child pornography, according to celebrity gossip site TMZ.

Kelly is best known for her roles in Charlie's Angels, Friday Night Lights and The Roommate. In Charlie's Angels Kelly played the role of street racer Eva French. The pilot was filmed in March 2011 and the series was picked up later that year.

Charlie's Angels premiered in September 2011 and initially received a large audience of nearly 9 million viewers. However, the series was hugely criticized by media and analysts, and even though the show was supposed to run for 13 episodes ABC decided to pull the plug on the show following just the fourth episode due to extremely rock bottom ratings.

Some have said that if the sex tape is proven to be true it could spark Kelly's career in a similar way as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have experienced. However, whether Kelly wants to follow in the footsteps of Hilton and Kardashian is unsure. If she wants to keep getting parts like that as Jackie Kennedy in "The Butler" she would be well advised not to go down that route.
