After the astounding success that the Dark Knight Trilogy has brought, it would be hard-pressed to find a true fan around that would be opposed to another Christopher Nolan film.  Unfortunately for the "Dark Knight" masses, the creatively skilled director has already indicated that "Dark Knight Rises" was indeed his last Batman ride.

With the blockbuster film ending on such a high note and unresolved fashion, the franchise obviously has the reasoning to continue putting out more films; post-Nolan.

Dark Knight Rises Review: Oscar Buzz Surrounding Christopher Nolan's Batman Masterpiece?

There is indeed a "Justice League" movie being planned as Gangster Squad's Will Beall is listed to be penning it, according to IMDB. However, the future film would most likely not tie into Christopher Nolan's version.

Now, onto the question on everyone's mind: What is next for the Batman franchise? Although there clearly is not a cut and dry answer as of yet, one can dream.

The following are three potential Batman reboot ideas from Game Zone:

One idea for a future film would be a "Batman Beyond."  The movie could take place fifty years into the future where an elder Bruce Wayne would mentor and train Terry McGinness, an ex-gang member of The Joker.  McGinness, could be played by Jake Gyllenhal, would be shown the way by the elder Batman. Since director Duncan Jones has worked with Gyllenhal on "Source Code," it would make great sense, from a creative standpoint.

Better yet, what if Warner Bros. put out a flick titled "Legends of the Dark Knight?"  Since they fared well together on the movie "Drive," why not try star Ryan Gosling in the Bruce Wayne role alongside director Nicholas Winding Refn?  In this case, the premise would involve Professor Hugo Strange, who is keen to Batman's secret identity and plans to take over Gotham.  Although most likely more violent, this scenario would be most similar to a Christopher Nolan story.

What if Bradley Cooper donned a cape for "Batman: Shadow Of The Bat?"  To top that idea off, Emma Watson could play the role of Julia Pennysworth.

Overall, a lot of fans are going to be torn.  Some will be pro-reboot while others will be pro-Nolan.  However, I'm sure most can agree on the fact that we don't want the next edition of the red hot franchise thrust to us for no other reason then to get it out for box office numbers; thus disregarding its reputation and creative direction.
