It looks like the guy who will be giving Tom Cruise problems in the next Mission: Impossible movie could be hacking his way towards Ethan Hunt or being some sort of terrorist character.

Deadline reported on Friday that Prometheus and The Borgias star Sean Harris is in early talks to take on the villain role in Mission: Impossible 5 opposite Cruise. The site added that it is just early discussions and no deal has been met yet.

With Ridley Scott's Prometheus being his most highly known movie credit, Harris made a name for himself with his work in The Borgias as Micheletto. He was most recently seen in Scott Derrickson's Deliver Us From Evil and will star alongside Michael Fassbender in Macbeth later this year.

While no details of the script are out yet, Harris has played a type of character who could be a little darker than what makes people around him comfortable. He seems perfect for a rogue terrorist-like role that would have him hacking and giving problems to Hunt and his team from computers and other technology.

This could play into the fact that Ving Rhames was brought back alongside Simon Pegg with both actors playing a sort of hacker-type role that could be used to combat Harris' motives. Rhames could be brought in to assist Pegg with whatever is happening online to the team.

The rest of the cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner and Alec Baldwin as the head of the C.I.A.

The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and is expected out on Christmas Day 2015.
