Hannibal's spectacular season finales are power-packed for a reason - series creator Bryan Fuller wants to make sure fans get a satisfying conclusion if the NBC series is canceled.

Now heading into its third season, Hannibal left viewers with a bloody cliffhanger. With Abigail, Alana, Jack, and Will left near the brink of death at the end of season 2 (see video) below, Fuller isn't allowing the series to "to tread water in any way, shape or form" as he works to get it to at least season 5 or 6.

"Every season we go into wanting to go out as if it were our last season, because we have absolutely no control over those issues. It's impossible to predict," Fuller explained to IGN. "So we always prepare for the show to be ending with that final episode and hope to have more, because I think this show should not go on forever. It should be a close story, and it is nice to see the arc. I don't think it should go more than five or six seasons."
