British GQ might have named Kim Kardashian its Woman of the Year, but the GQ in the United States has made it clear they have no affiliation with the decision.

The magazine set the record straight Monday via Twitter after readers slammed it when they thought it gave Kardashian the award.

It began its mini rant Monday morning and wrote, "Good morning, citizens of the UK. We're still GQ US, and we still gave no awards. Congratulations on the new royal baby, though."

It also clapped back at a fan who tried to shame the fashion publication. The fan wrote,  "@GQMagazine names Kim Kardashian woman of the year! sMH GQ=Goodbye Quality" before GQ responded, "It's Gentlemen's Quarterly. And, wrong GQ."

The damage control continued when a fan called out the magazine for naming Kardashian with such an award when she has not "cured cancer" or "stopped ISIS."

GQ responded, "We didn't name any woman of the year."

The tweets continued throughout the day as the magazine set out to clear the air and its name after being mixed up with its British counterpart. Kardashian has not yet responded to the U.S. GQ's tweets.

Kardashian was not only dubbed British GQ'Woman Of The Year, but she also did a nude spread for the publication. It justified its decision to award Kardashian by also naming her the "most famous woman in the world."

Kardashian not only accepted the honor but acknowledged her husband as well. "What a huge honour to win Woman of the Year. It's so special. I want to thank my husband for making me feel like the Woman of the Year every single day," she said.
