True Detective is set to have a number of different directors for its second season on HBO, but not everyone thinks this is a wise decision.

'True Detective' Gets A Release Date For 2015

Some fans have expressed concern over the change in format, as Season 1 was directed entirely by this year's Emmy winner Cary Joji Fukunaga. On Monday, True Detective Rumors voiced concern about this fact. It is one thing that Fukunaga won't be returning, but the introduction of multiple directors could interrupt the flow of a series that thrives on consistency.

The blend of creator Nic Pizzolatto's writing and Fukunaga's directing were part of what made the series such a hit. The singularity of vision was key. Without this, the show might lose its natural edge.

'True Detective' Season 2 Spoilers

Fast and Furious director Justin Lin is just one of the latest directors in talks for the drama's new episodes, of which it is believed he will direct perhaps two or three.

Production is set to begin this month for the program, though no announcement has formally been made to reveal the cast. Frontrunner Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) might just be replaced by Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, State of Play) at the last second, and there is still no word if Colin Farrell (Minority Report, Saving Mr. Banks) , Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers, Into the Wild), and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) have inked deals for which negotiations have been rumored for over a month.

True Detective returns to HBO for a second season in mid-2015.
