Jhené Aiko’s debut album “Souled Out” was released earlier today (Sept. 9) on iTunes. The LA native, who gained popularity through her poetic mixtapes and melodic features, stopped by “The World’s Most Dangerous Morning Show” to promote her Def Jam debut.

Though Charlamage questioned her hygiene right out of the gate, the 18-minute conversation was informative and inappropriately hilarious. Here’s what we learned from Jhene Aiko’s first visit to “The Breakfast Club.”

1. She does shower, for hours at a time. During an interview with Hot 97’s Miss Info, she made a joke about the difference between a hippie and a hipster, using her hygiene as an example. Audiences ran with it, and Charlamagne concluded she did not bathe regularly.
 2. She’s been in the industry since she was 12 years old, but took some time off to take care of her now 5-year-old daughter, Namiko or Nami as she usually refers to her. Her older sisters (including Mila J) and cousin (Lil’ Fizz) were in and out of singing groups in the earlier 2000s.
 3. Her album title, Souled Out, is a play on words. Some may hear it and think she sold out or sold her soul, but the music on the album tells a completely different story.
 4. She’s not dating Childish Gambino or Drake, contrary to popular belief. Childish directed her new video, “The Pressure.”
 5. She and her sister Mila J are not on each other’s albums because they wanted their debut projects to be about themselves. When they get together, they are about family and not about the business of things.
 6. She never thought radio would like ‘The Worst” and does not make singles for the radio. But, things have worked out in her favor as it placed in the top 10 of the R&B Billboard chart in the past weeks.
 7. All of her songs are inspired by her life.  When she “runs out of stories,” she will tell the stories of others.
 8. Before she got back into music, she waited tables a Vegan café. To this day, she thinks waitresses deserve more credit. She decided to focus on music full time before she quit.

9. The father of her daughter Nami is Love and Hip Hop Hollywood star Omarion’s (real) brother, O’Ryan.
The two grew up together and are still friends.
 10. She may or may not be a crip. Just kidding……….. Maybe.
 11. She’s in a relationship, but not with Childish Gambino. If you visit her Instagram, you will see pictures of him. She’s in love! (Unfortunately, she doesn’t write as much when she’s happy)
 12. She used to actually like reading blogs until rumors flared that she was pregnant with Drake’s baby. Then, she realized most of what blogs post are not true.

 13. She was one of No I.D.’s first signees to Def Jam, after he accepted a higher up position.

 14. She wants to spread love and teach people how to love themselves through her music.

 15. After she had her daughter Nami, she realized that she hadn’t been in love until she had the child. But, she has had her heartbroken twice and has those people to thank for her great music.
