Suri Cruise Adjusts To Big Changes Living in NYC

Following the split of her parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise now lives full-time in New York City with her mother and the 6-year-old is quickly experiencing some big chances in her lifestyle.

Away from the 10,000 square feet $35 million Beverly Hills residence she once called home, Suri is currently living with Holmes, 33, in a three bedroom apartment in the Chelsea-Manhattan area, where rent ranges from $10,000 to $12,000 a month, according to Yahoo.

Recently, pictures have surfaced of Holmes and Suri taking yellow cabs around Manhattan, very different from the chauffeured rides in private-owned cars that the young girl was accustomed to before Holmes' divorce to Cruise, 50, after five years of marriage.

Yahoo also noted that the mother and daughter took a recent weekend trip to visit Holmes' family in Ohio in which they flew coach instead of taking a private plane like they used to.

As far as her education, Suri has been enrolled in the Convent of Sacred Heart school, an all-girls Catholic school in Manhattan's Upper East Side, according to The Huffington Post. This will be another big change for Suri - who has been home-schooled in the past - as well as a break from Scientology, which played such a large role in Cruise and Holmes' marriage. Scientology has also been rumored to be a possible cause for the couple's split, drawing a divide between Cruise's devoted following of the science and Holmes' varied views.

In an interview with Marie Claire magazine, Holmes mentioned keeping a daily routine for her daughter without all the glitz and glam of a lavish Hollywood lifestyle.

"We wake up and do the same thing. She does her chores. I think it's very important." Holmes said. "I try to do what my mom did for me. Just spending time with her, making doll clothes, and planting in the garden."

Trying to visit his daughter as much as he can, Tom is on a mission to win over Suri's affection with the help of lavish gifts and gestures, the New York Post reported on July 25. During the father and daughter's first "play date" since Tom's split with Holmes, "Suri reportedly got everything she wanted and more," according to the paper.
