Teyana Taylor has addressed rumors that she was the reason Ray Rice and his wife Janay Palmer got into a physical altercation.

The video of Rice hitting Palmer in an elevator hit the Internet and rumors swirled that the couple got into an argument because of a text conversation Rice had with Taylor.
She interviewed with Mina SayWhat at Philadelphia's Power 99 and shut down speculation that she interacted with Rice just before the incident.

"No one received a text from me. I had nothing to do with that.This is a big matter. ESPN hasn't said my name. No sports blogs have said my name BUT a whole bunch of OUR people. Our people who want it to be true so bad but I can't entertain those type of things."
Still, she did not deny that she and Rice do know one another. They used to live in the same building and her friend also used to be involved with him. She said that while he is her "homie," she reprimanded him and his wife for the altercation.
"I don't condone what he did, and I don't condone what his wife did. They need to work that out and figure it out, however, she shouldn't have hit him and he shouldn't hit her. I feel like there is a double standard because sometimes we don't realize that a man is still a man but Ray shouldn't have put his hands on her and she shouldn't put her hands on him."
