One of television's funniest female comedians, Roseanne Barr, has caused an online uproar with Christian Chik-Fil-A supporters on Twitter when she tweeted inappropriate comments about the fast food chain.

"Anyone who eats S*** Fil-A deserves to get the cancer that is sure to come from eating antibiotic filled tortured chickens 4Christ," Barr tweeted.

"Off to grab a s%#@ fil-A sandwich on my way to worshipping Christ, supporting Aipac and war in Iran," she added.

Barr, who supports same-sex marriage, incited a war on her social media account and later apologized, reported CBS.

In the response to the public outry against her, Barr retweeted the replies from those who were offended and later responded to them asking why she would suggest Christians get cancer:

"christian liars: i never wished cancer on you at all-jesus will punish u 4 ur deceit-I said processed foods cause cancer."

Barr later apologized: "Rereading my tweet I realize that I used the wrong word-I shouldn't have used the word deserves. I shouldn't have used the word deserves in my tweet and I apologize."

Known for never backing down, she sent another offensive tweet about the restaurant chain by criticizing only their food: "Chickfil-A is made from aborted chicken fetus anus...I was constipated and had to strain 2 pass a chick fil-A...I've boycotted Chick-Fil-A for years because it tastes like sh*t."

Several celebrities have taken to Twitter to criticize comments made by Chik-Fil-A President Dan Cathy. When Cathy was asked to confirm his anti-gay marriage stance in an interview with The Baptist Press, he replied "guilty as charged."

"We intend to stay the course," he added. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."

Roseanne Barr is known for her hit 90s sitcom "Roseanne," for which she has won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award. She later had her own talk show, "The Roseanne Show" and last year starred in an unscripted TV series about her life on a farm in Hawaii.
