There are a lot of plot lines that fans want to see in the next Captain America movie and while the directors have cut down one fan favorite, it seems like the story could still be something darker and bigger than the last movie.

'Captain America 3' Won't Be Civil War Plotline, But That Doesn't Rule It Out For Future

Speaking with Hypable on Friday, Captain America 3 directors Joe and Anthony Russo talked about where the story could go and how it would keep the same tone, but also go somewhere different.

"We're not gonna get away from some of that tone, we like a very grounded approach to the character. We like long lenses. We like handheld camera work. That stuff's not going away," Joe said.

"But what can we bring that's fresh to the table from an execution standpoint, from a relationship standpoint, and from a storytelling standpoint? You don't want them to say, 'I saw this movie two years ago and it was called The Winter Soldier."

Anthony added that they hope to create a brand loyalty with the fans of the franchise and they think this movie will continue to do that.

"Moving into Cap 3, we have the advantage of having this brand that continues to build loyalty and win fans," Anthony said. "It gives you license to take them places. It's a very valuable thing as far as where we can take the stories."

While they won't say what the next title will be, some fans on Twitter hypothesized through what the directors have been saying lately what the title could be and came up with "Red Zone."

Captain America 3 is set to open in theaters on May 6, 2016.
