Earlier this week, Gambino stopped by the World's Most Dangerous Morning Show to discuss his music and to catch up with Angela Yee, Charlamagne and DJ Envy. The conversation got much deeper than the initial light-hearted and hilarious subject matters of the Power 105 morning show interviews. In this interview, touching on his mainstream popularity, Charlamagne and the gang engage him in a conversation that focused on realities of race in pop culture as well as the new generation.

In lieu of the latest police killings of black men Michael Brown and Eric Garner, Gambino also shared his stories of negative interactions with the police to portray that fame has no affect on racist brutality.

At about the 20-minute mark, Gambino begins the story.

While doing a show in Vegas, a police officer targeted him and his family right before he went on the stage, repeatedly demanding that he and his older parents "Get off the side walk." After Gambino tried to explain that he was trying to get his parents backstage to watch his performance, the police officer got frustrated and reached for his holster, asking, "Do we have a problem?"

Though he did not react in the manner he wanted to, he told The Breakfast Club that he felt "powerless" and "worthless," because he could do nothing at all.
