Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman (Stoker, Grace of Monaco) suffered a devastating loss with the sudden death of her father, 75-year-old Tony Kidman, on Thursday.

Kidman's father, A distinguished clinical psychiatrist, is said to have suffered a fall in his hotel room while visiting his daughter and Nicole's younger sister Antonia in Singapore.

The actress has been deeply affected by the untimely passing of her father, whom was suspected to have had a heart attack sometime after breakfast. Dr. Kidman was rushed to Tan Tock Song Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 10 a.m.

Nicole Kidman Dishes On Marriage to Keith Urban

After hearing the news, the actress's husband and country artist Keith Urban dropped everything to be with Kidman, cancelling a show that night.

According to E!, the performance was to take place at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California for a charity event, though Urban hurried back to Nashville to be with his family after getting word of his father-in-law's passing.

"Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father," a representative for Kidman announced. "She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly request privacy during this very difficult time. Thank you."

According to the UK Daily Mail on Friday, Urban is taking this time to be with his family and has rescheduled the canceled his upcoming show at the Washington State Fair for September 19, 2015.

An investigation is currently underway. The official cause of death is still uncertain.
