Kendall Jenner is certainly coming into her own as a runway model and wants to make sure she makes a name for herself without her family; so she opened up about not wanting her sister Kim Kardashian at her fashion shows.

Jenner, who stars in E!'s hit reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians,  spoke with The Cut recently and dished that her older sister actually gets lots of invites to the shows that she models in. But she would prefer her not to be sitting in the audience.

"I was like, 'You know what? I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously."

She added that she also does not want people to continue thinking the only reason she has gotten success is because she was born into a famous family.

"People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn't take me seriously as a model. Because of the TV show."

She went on to say that she has a sigh of relief when people don't recognize her because she has been turned down due to her name.

This could be why she has dropped her last name in hopes of boosting her career on her own.

Jenner, who is signed with The Society Management, only goes by Kendall on the site. She also axed "Jenner" from her name for the Marc Jacobs and Giles show recently.

She told Us Weekly last month, I did it last year at all the castings too! "I only go by my first name."
