Love & Hip Hop New York star Tahiry Jose has taken to her Instagram to make an official statement after being attacked at New York Fashion Week.

Jose thanked her fans for their support Thursday after a man physically abused her during the festivities Monday.

She wrote, "As you may or may not know, on Monday, Sept. 8, I was attacked, assaulted and violated, while in the workplace, by a man. I was beaten because I am woman with a voice and refuse to be disrespected. It is more proof that the violence against women is real and needs to be addressed publicly."

She went on to defend other women who have suffered similar experiences and wrote that the brutality and physical force against women needs to come to an end.

The reality star and model updated fans on her current condition also reassured them that the recent attack will not hold her back from continuing to be a strong women.

"More to the point, I am home, healing and surrounded by love. Rest assured, I will continue all my efforts and endeavors with the same faith, determination, passion and spirit I have always possesed. Again, thank you! You are ALL heroes of mine! Love, Tahiry"

Jose's statement came just days after she was hospitalized after being attacked before she was slated to walk the runway for the Toure Designs Fashion Show. A man, Carlos Gonzales, allegedly beat the Vh1 star after he verbally assault her. He got physical when she told him not to disrespect her and asked why he was being so rude.
