Avengers 2: Age of Ultron won't hit theaters until May, but it looks like Marvel may already have Avengers 3 planned out.

A recent post from PW Insider indicates that the Guardians of the Galaxy may soon merge with their earth-bound brethren in a battle against Thanos. Wrestler/actor Dave Batista is apparently renegotiating his Marvel contract to allow for multiple films, including Avengers 3.

"Batista is slated for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as well as the 3rd Avengers movie, where he will have a significant role," said PW Mania. "That movie will be a few years down the road as the 2nd Avengers movie isn't scheduled to be released until May 2015. There are already rumors of a Guardians-Avengers crossover in Avengers 3, including the appearance of Thanos."

This new should be taken with a grain of salt, however, since it does not come from Marvel studios itself. It is not unusual for Marvel actors to sign multi-film contracts, it fact, it's the norm. Just because Batista is slated to appear several more times, it does not guarantee one of these appearances will be in Avengers 3.

However, Thanos is Marvel's Phase One through Phase Three big bad, which means he will probably be at the center of Avengers 3. Considering Drax has vowed to take him down, it would be appropriate for the Destroyer to appear in the Phase 3 capstone film.

In the meantime, fans can check out The Avengers: Age of Ultron when it hits theaters on May 1.
