Ray (Liev Schreiber) is seen socking Mickey (Jon Voight) one in the face, and getting arrested as things spiral out of control in the upcoming episode of Ray Donovan.

Prepare For "Huge" And "Unexpected" Season 2 Finale

The tensions are flaring in the preview of the next episode of the Showtime series and Ray is seen headlong in trouble and this time he seems to have laid a perfect trap for himself.

The clip gives glimpses of various aspects of Ray's troubles, from the Boston Globe journalist confronting him about a bunch of murders, a broke parole officer, Ronald Kieth (Wendell Pierce) -- whom Ray has taken into his confidence -- nervously working a big and dangerous drug deal, but the highlight of the next episode seems to be a brutal confrontation between Ray and Mickey wherein Ray punches Mickey in the face and is still attempting to pummel him as the cops pin Ray down.

Jon Voight Dishes About "Delicious," "Classic" Scene In Last Episode

Speaking to the Baltimore Sun, in August, Pierce had suggested that Ronald will be manipulated by Ray. Ronald is a broke parole officer, and it Ray steps in to improve his financial situation, but not out of sheer goodwill.

"Ronald Keith, like most of the people in Ray Donovan's world, has his flaws," Pierce said. "His flaw is gambling. It has really compromised who he is personally and professionally. When we meet him at the bar, he's put himself in a financial bind because of his gambling."

The next episode of Ray Donovan will air on Sunday, September 21 at 8 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
