According to People on Monday, the musician gave a small performance for friends and business associates to celebrate the release of Sundown Heaven Town.

"We live in a town with great talent. To go into the studio and sink my teeth into some of these songs… it makes me proud," declared McGraw. "At the end of the day, as an artist who records other people's music, I want you to be proud of it."

Apparently the 47-year-old singer stumbled a little in front of the crowd. During his transition between the new Shotgun Rider and Keep on Trucking he found himself lost. He missed his entry and then stumbled with the words, though McGraw was far from humiliated by the scene.

"When I get back on tour, I need to get one of those video screens with all the words on it," he said good-naturedly. "That's what happens after 20-something years!"

His wife and fellow country artist Faith Hill quickly jumped to defend her husband, calling to other musicians to help him save the song. They obliged and the little show continued without further trouble.

Hill performs on the new record with her husband as part of the duet Meanwhile Back at Mama's which has proven itself to be a hit for the both of them.

McGraw's new album has 13 tracks, which is somewhat fitting given it's his 13th studio album.

Sundown Heaven Town hits stores on September 16.
