Lambert has been out on the road for a few months now, and on Friday the singer found herself overwhelmed during a concert in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Donning a pair of blue jeans and an "American Rebel" t-shirt, the singer was performing Over You when she noticed a young girl in the crowd. According to Taste of Country on Monday, the 7-year-old cancer patient was wearing a pink cowboy hat to cover her head. Diagnosed in 2010, little Brooke Hester is fighting Stage IV Neuroblastoma cancer and was thrilled when Lambert knelt down and took her hand.

Smiling and crying, Lambert became so emotional that she couldn't finish singing the song and stood up, holding the microphone out to the audience to help her through it as she wiped tears from her eyes.

The concert, held at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, will surely remain a memorable one for Hester and Lambert. A number of fans captured the encounter on their phones and the video quickly spread online.

Lambert's next performance is in Honolulu, Hawaii where she'll play the Neal S. Blaisdell Center on September 20 before heading to Las Vegas, NV to meet up with her husband for the Route 91 Harvest Festival October 4.
