With only six episodes left, there's still plenty of action headed for HBO's Boardwalk Empire this Sunday.

The latest preview (featured below) reveals a number of new alliances, including one potentially forming between rising criminal mastermind Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) and Dr. Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright).

Of course, Chalky White (Michael K Williams) is still looking to take down Narcisse for the death of his daughter and destruction of his empire, but in Episode 3 White will have his hands full with other matters. Having escaped from prison, he and a fellow inmate have taken a religious family hostage as they hold up in their house.

Creator Dishes On Why It Was Time To End 'Boardwalk Empire'

The new episode will find Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) preparing to do business, telling Mickey Doyle (Paul Sparks), who has miraculously managed to survive five seasons: "Bring the muscle and make sure the can handle guns."

Even Margaret Schroeder (Kelley Macdonald) looks nervous during the preview, though her face is only shown for a moment as she sits in front of a desk looking rather uneasy.

The preview also hinted at a flashback funeral, with young Nucky standing in a black suit. Previous seasons have revealed that both Nucky's sister and mother died when he was young. Their deaths seemed to have served as a turning point in his life, bringing forth his moral ambiguity as he began his career in Atlantic City government.

Boardwalk Empire continues on HBO with its fifth and final season Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
