New Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough may have accidentally outed one of the current male contestants competing on the reality competition series.

Hough was discussing current contestant Jonathan Bennett, of Mean Girls fame, and let it slip that he is gay. She explained the story to Extra's Mario Lopez:

"He tweeted me last year and said, like, I had a nice butt, but he also tagged my trainer," she explained. "And so I was like, 'Oh, he's hitting on me. I should try to go on a date with him.'"

When Lopez asked what happened, Hough quickly responded with "He's gay. So, I was like, that's not gonna work."

Bennett has not publicly come out as gay prior to Hough's comments, though he was previously rumored to be. An Out magazine report revealed rumors of Bennett dating KyleXY star Matt Dallas prior to the latter coming out.

Bennett is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars with his pro dancing partner Allison Holker. He previously revealed to Toledo's The Blade that he would be dancing for his father, who died earlier this year and used to watch DWTS with him

"I just lost my father to brain cancer not but three months ago and this was his favorite show on television," he said. "And when he was sick in hospice the only show he wanted to watch was Dancing with the Stars because he said this show made him feel good. So I'm doing this performance not just for myself but for my father because I know how badly he loved the show and how thrilled he would be that I'm on it."

Bennett has already made it past the first week of competition and is hoping to continue and get to the finals.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
