On Friday, TV Fanatic posted an interview with Charles Esten who plays Deacon on the series. He mentioned some characteristics that Maddie has, which will give her a lot to deal with.

"I mean number one, just the teen years themselves [and] learning about that sort of separation and finding who you are and all the peer pressure," Esten said. "But then on top of that, she is the child of somebody very famous. She's the child of divorce. She's the child of this father that never knew her."

'Nashville' Season 3 Will Have 'Twists & Turns'

Despite all her personal issues, the actor pointed out that Maddie will strive to be seen as a musician and not as a musician's daughter.

"She's an artist and wants to be pushing out on this feeling inside of her that she wants to make music and she's not getting the opportunity so there's a bunch of reasons that she has to step up to the world and make a little noise," Esten said. "So there's no doubt that that's going to happen."

The actor also revealed that Scarlett will be in a "tough place,"and will share a connection with Deacon.

"She's one of those few that can call him to account when he's not doing what he should," Esten said. "And Deacon can speak some truth to her so in this moment though there are some things where we sort of have to let them find their way and in my mind that's where Deacon is with Scarlett, she has to find her way right now."

Nashville Season 3 will premiere on Thursday, September 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
