Phillips, who played Henry for three seasons on the crime drama, has maintained a sense of "faith" on Twitter in terms of the show finding a new home for season four.

Producers have been shopping the series around with other networks, and with an army of loyal fans Phillips doesn't seem too concerned about the program's fate. In fact, he even told fans on Twitter Thursday that things "are happening" to keep the show alive.

Does the actor know something fans don't? Could talks with a new network be more advanced than previously considered? Longmire has been brought to both Amazon and Netflix, though neither outlet has formally expressed a sincere intent to take on the series. Nonetheless, it's possible the program might just be carried through based on an overwhelming turnout of fan support.

The series was cancelled after three years on the network, to the surprise of many fans. The popular drama had been A&E's highest scripted drama and second most popular program on the network.

If Longmire does return for a fourth season on a new network, it will likely do so during the later half of 2015.
