The BET Hip Hop Awards happened this past weekend in Atlanta. Hip hop's biggest names showed up on the red carpet and in an unexpected turn of events, Love and Hip Hop NY's resident bad-girl Erica Mena revealed that she and 106 & Park host Bow Wow are engaged.

For the past few months, Erica Mena and Bow Wow have been making their seemingly random love affair, public. The two kissed on 106 & Park in February, and since then, the two television stars have been inseparable.

During a red carpet interview with ThisIs50.com, Mena revealed that the two were much more than boyfriend and girlfriend. When asked what the status of their relationship was, she responded, "Ummm, we're engaged!"

Surprised by the news, the personality and everyone in their immediate area did not utter one word. But, Bow Wow later confirmed it by posting a picture of his watch and her ring from the awards show late Saturday night (Sept. 20).

Fans had mixed reactions, because Mena was just in a serious, or seemingly serious, relationship with her former cast mate Cyn Santana. During the entire last season, she defended their relationship as something that she held near and dear to her. Now, the two are no longer together and she is engaged.

Under the picture of the ring, one fan commented, "You can do so much better watch the last season of love hip hop new York... Please before you marry watch all of them shows in the last season."
