It seems like Marvel is looking to expand its universe into, well, space and with that includes a handful of new villains and locations to visit and save. But could the next intergalactic mission happen with Captain America? Possibly.

'Captain America 3' Drop Hints At Massive Marvel Cameo In Next Movie

Captain America 3 directors Anthony and Joe Russo seem keen on making a Secret Wars movie, a comic book series that both said were one of their favorites. But is that possible? And if so, what characters would be involved?

In the comics, the story begins when a team of heroes finds themselves transported to a space station in an unknown region of the galaxy. The heroes' team is comprised of Captain Marvel, Captain America, Wasp, She-Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Professor X, Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus, Lockheed, Spider-Man, Mr. Fantastic, Thing, Human Torch and Magneto.

Could There Be Some Major Tension Between Captain America & Iron Man After 'Avengers 2?'

The heroes quickly realize that they are not alone as a second space station hangs not far away, in perfect view from theirs. This is where a similar group of villains has been transported, consisting of Enchantress, Ultron, Absorbing Man, Wrecker, Thunderball, Piledriver, Bulldozer, Kang, Galactus, Lizard, Molecule Man, Doctor Octopus and Doctor Doom.

The two groups are made aware of each others' presence and transported to a planet made up of pieces of other planets by the Beyonder. While the location of this planet is not known exactly, Doctor Doom believes that it is in orbit of a star that is the last star of the galaxy that they are in.

While a lot of these names are not with Marvel (namely the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and X-Men), it still could open a world for the rumored second Avengers team that Captain America will assemble at the end of Avengers 2 with names like Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, and Wasp rumored.

This would also allow for villains like Galactus to have a brief appearance as a set-up for future Marvel movies where the famous villain could reek all of the destruction instead of just being a cameo.

Captain America 3 is set to open in theaters on May 6, 2016.
