It looks like the Nashville fans might have something to look forward to for the next couple of years.

Character With A Tragic Past Joins 'Nashville'

On Tuesday, TV By The Numbers mentioned that the series will be within one more full season of the number of episodes so far as well as the future episodes. With an amount of about 88 episodes, this seems to be the minimum for extra profitable stripped syndication, according to the site.

Even though it's not worth getting excited over just yet since the third season hasn't even aired yet, this news gives the impression that a fourth season of Nashville could easily happen. It'll probably be a good while before that becomes official, but in the meantime, it's probably something worth thinking about.

If the show does go on for at least one extra year after the third, then a lot is bound to happen. In the third year, Maddie is apparently going to have a lot of pressure due to the life she has to live. Charles Esten, who plays Deacon on the series, recently spoke to TV Fanatic on how his character's daughter will proceed on the series.

"I mean number one, just the teen years themselves [and] learning about that sort of separation and finding who you are and all the peer pressure," Esten said. "But then on top of that, she is the child of somebody very famous. She's the child of divorce. She's the child of this father that never knew her."

Nashville Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, September 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
