The Voice is back and it looks like the judges quirky on-screen ways are, too. Judge Blake Shelton took the opportunity to make fun of newcomer Pharrell Williams and his mountain hat on Tuesday night's show.

'The Voice' Winner Josh Kaufman Says Usher Still Has His Back

In an attempt to woo contestant Joe Kirk on his team, Williams first mocked Shelton by calling him "The Nashville Whisperer" and "The Voice Jedi" with an exaggerated eyeroll, according to People Magazine on Wednesday.

Shelton hit back by putting on an over-sized hat similar to the Canadian Mountie-style hat Williams has been wearing to awards shows this year. Shelton then told Kirk, "How seriously are you going to take this guy when he's giving you some heartfelt speech and you're waiting for him to make you an Arby's roast beef sandwich?"

'The Voice' Season 7 Results Blind Auditions Night 1

Despite their jokes, Shelton recently had nothing but words of praise for Williams and new coach Gwen Stefani.

According to Us Weekly last Wednesday, Shelton was excited to be working with both of the chart toppers on Season 7 of the show.

"Gwen Stefani is an icon. The level of brilliance Gwen and Pharrell Williams brought into the game... I absolutely did not see this coming," Shelton said.

The Voice airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST/PST on the NBC network.
