While Doctor Strange is confirmed, Marvel has yet to say anything on the Black Panther front, which means it could be coming longer down the road. Actors like Chadwick Boseman and John Boyega have voiced an interest in the role, and now one of television's biggest actors wants in on the action.

Could 'The Equalizer' Be Marvel's Black Panther?

Speaking with Cinema Blend on Monday, Michael K. Williams, known for his role on The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, said that he had no discussion yet with Marvel on doing the Black Panther movie, but it would be something he is definitely interested in.

"No not yet. And I'm saying 'yet' with a lot of emphasis. But hopefully I'm looking forward to being apart of the franchise," Williams said. "Black Panther. Yeah, definitely."

Williams added that he is a massive fan of the character, who he grew up with among the other superhero comics. He said that he could bring that quintessential New York City edge to the character.

"I grew up with it, but I'm more excited about the opportunity. I'm a little more old school. I was into Superman, Batman, Spider-Man," Williams said.

"My three top favorites by far. And then you know Wonder Woman, Aquaman--you know that's my world. That's my childhood. It would depend on the script (if I joined). I would definitely bring that quintessential New York City edge. You know, just a little bit of that grit."

Williams has yet to have that monster film role and bringing him in to play Black Panther would be a massive get for Marvel as he has been a star in television since The Wire. But it depends on the age, and the other actors involved could last longer in the role than Williams.

It looks like it will depend on how quick Marvel can get the ball rolling.
