It looks like Facebook might find itself in a drag queen battle after making a rule that forbids using alternative names on its site.

RuPaul Reveals TV Shows That Will Be Referenced In Season 7

On Tuesday, New Now Next posted an image of a campaign that is turning against the Facebook rule that users must post their real names on the site, including drag queens. As it turns out, drag queens and other people who are involved in the LGBT community aren't the only people who use alias names.

"It's MORE than 'just' drag queens or sisters or LGBT activists," James Longacre (also known as Sr Sparkle Plenty) wrote on his page on Monday. "It's doctors, lawyers, school teachers, therapists, abuse survivors, police officers, fire fighters.... it's just about everyone."

Will Bianca Del Rio Become A Guest Judge On 'RuPaul' Season 7?

RuPaul, the host of the popular drag race, spoke up on this incident to The Hollywood Reporter where it was mentioned that hundreds of performers have had their accounts deactivated for refusing to display their real names.

"In showbiz, there's no such thing as bad publicity as long as they spell your name right," RuPaul said. "But it's bad policy when Facebook strips the rights of creative individuals who have blossomed into something even more fabulous than the name their mama gave them."

This gives an impression on what future contestants in the drag race will feel about this, and if any of them have had their accounts deactivated over the controversy.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 is expected to premiere in February 2015 on Logo TV.
